In the UK, UTC is the same as Greenwich Mean Time which means that when the clocks move to British Summer Time each spring then the time reported by BI will be one hour behind local time.

Other countries operate different daylight saving regimes so if you want to report in your local time you’ll need to make sure any conversion allows for this.

Luckily if you are using Excel or Power BI for reporting purposes then there’s a simple way to make sure your reports are always in local time regardless of the time of year.

The video above shows the steps to convert any BI time field to the correct local time. The example uses Excel but it’s exactly the same process for Power BI.
